Fix ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED or Error 102 in Chrome/Windows

How to Fix ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED or Error Code 102?

In case there is any problem with the device you are trying to connect to the internet, the problem can be solved following few simple steps.

Erase Google Chrome’s Cache and Cookies:

The malware infected cache and cookie files can to such connection error. To prevent this, clear all your cache cookies and history. To get this job done, go to your browser Settings page, and then select “Clear Browser Data”.

Clear Up The Malware:

There may be corrupted applications running on your system which blocks the chrome and other browsers from connecting to the internet server. In order to get rid of them, detect and uninstall those corrupted applications or software from your system using updated anti-malware software.

Final Alternative Error 102 in Chrome/Windows:

Once you have done with the above-mentioned tutorials, restart your computer system. Open your Chrome internet browser and try searching your preferred website. If the connection error still emerges, I recommend you to clear your DNS resolver caches.

In order to attempt clearing DNS cache, you can g through the following method.

Step- 1:

Run the Command Prompt as your Administrator.

  •  Go to your Start Menu from your desktop window
  • Navigate the Command Prompt alternative
  • Click right mouse button placing the cursor on the menu item.
  • Now click on the “Run as Administrator” option.

Or, you can do through another route to do it so. Go to Start Menu, type a text as “cmd” in the search box. Now, press the ‘CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER’ all together at the same time to get it run as your Administrator.


Step- 2:

Once you are done with the above procedure, a command prompt box will appear with the black colored background. There, you will need to run the following commands one by one. Mind to press ENTER after each command you type.





netsh int ip set dns

netsh winsock reset

Restart your system again if you are done following the above instruction. Now, check your connection whether the problem still persists or gone.
